About Us

Who are we?

Founders and owners, Katie Robbins and Marykate Schrack, met while working at a private therapy practice in Doylestown, PA. Both Katie and Marykate worked with a child and adolescent population and experienced long wait lists to provide service to those in need. Seeing an increased need for specialized therapists who treat ages 4-24, they decided to create a practice focused specifically on this demographic.

In addition to the need for more child and adolescent therapists, Katie and Marykate saw the frustration that many parents experienced when they were shuffled from one office to the next, seeking multiple services for their children and teens.

Together, they sought to create a one-stop-shop where parents could access everything from Autism and ADHD testing to full-scale educational and social evaluations, nutritional counseling, sports therapy, and psychiatric services. New Outlook has partnered with multiple experts and healthcare providers to equip children and adolescents with everything they need in a timely and efficient manner.

Marykate Schrack: MEd, LPC, AEC

“Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.”

Education and Background: After graduating from Bloomsburg University in the Spring of 1999 with a degree in Social Welfare and Criminal Justice, I obtained my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from West Chester University. I have been working as a certified school counselor in Bucks County, PA since the Fall of 2003. In 2018, I received my Autism Endorsement Certificate from Holy Family University and joined a private practice in Doylestown, PA as a behavioral therapist. After completing 3,000 supervised hours of clinical therapy at my private practice, I obtained my license to practice counseling (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania.

I currently work with children between the ages of 4 and 12. My specialties include Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Depressive Disorders, ADHD and Executive Functioning, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I also help children work through issue surrounding family strife, separation and divorce, self-identity, self-esteem, social skills, making and maintaining relationships, school avoidance and transitional issues.

Philosophy: I primarily use a Solution-Focused Therapy approach. Solution-Focused Therapy incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, which help clients to change by constructing solutions, rather than focusing on problems. I will often use an activity-based approach to promote goal setting and enhance therapeutic outcomes. Other counseling techniques I employ are Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy.

Personal: I live in North Wales, PA with my husband and our 18-year-old daughter. My son is a 2022 graduate of West Chester University who lives and works in Chicago. I have a young Basset Hound named Slinky Dog, a certified therapy dog, who loves going to work and is available to come to sessions, by request. I also have two cats, Chuck and River, who prefer to stay at home and bird watch!

“Never let fear hold you back from something you want to do.”

Education and Background: I graduated from Penn State University in 2009 with my undergraduate in education. Immediately after graduating, I continued on to my master’s degree and received a master’s degree from Holy Family University in counseling psychology. From there, I started my own business and ran that for 11 years. In 2021 I decided to take some time off and stay at home with my children until they were in school. In early 2024, I came back to the field and have been actively practicing clinical therapy at a private practice.

I currently work with children and young adults ages ranging from 6 to 24. My specialties include Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Depressive Disorders, ADHD, anger issues including Oppositional Defiant Disorder, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, and school related problems. I also focus on difficult life events such as family separation or divorce, changes in self-identity, or struggles with social relationships and/or school-related issues. These are crucial developmental concerns that can impact a child's emotional well-being and overall growth.

Philosophy: I am committed to helping all children and young adults learn how to create a safe space to explore their emotions and develop coping skills to build healthy relationships within their lives. My therapeutic style is personal, interactive and collaborative. I want to ensure that children and young adults feel accepted for who they are and to encourage an atmosphere of understanding, where feelings, thoughts, and experiences are heard without judgment. I will let clients know that it’s okay to express their emotions, whether through words, art, writing, or physical activities. I also want them to explore different ways of expressing their feelings while feeling confident in themselves. I will teach my clients that it's essential to establish clear, respectful boundaries; ensuring that people feel safe and that their personal space (emotionally and physically) is respected. This can help them develop a sense of control over their environment. In addition to establishing healthy boundaries, I will encourage them to build connections with others who respect and support them. Healthy relationships are key to one’s emotional growth. I will be there to provide ongoing support through counseling and will strive for all children and young adults to gain a better understanding of their personal strengths and abilities to help increase their confidence.

Personal: I currently live in Furlong, PA with my two boys who are five and seven. We also have a very large Great Dane named Rilye who believes she is a lap dog. If you are a dog lover, she is your girl, she loves to lie next to you and be your biggest supporter.

“Happiness is not something that happens to people, but instead is something that they make happen.” — Edward M. Hallowell, M.D.

He worked for 28 years with Montgomery County Office of Children & Youth, serving as Foster Care and Family Engagement Unit Supervisor, before retiring in 2023. Since 2014, he has been an advocate for father involvement, and in 2024 he was appointed to the Joint State Government Commission and State Advisory Committee on Greater Fatherhood.

Therapeutic Work: At New Outlook Therapies, Fred supports children ages 5 and up with ADHD management, school avoidance, anxiety, adoption/foster care challenges, and irrational thought patterns. He uses psychodrama, art and music therapy, bright light therapy, and calming techniques, and often assigns practical strategies to help children build self-regulation skills.

Personal: Fred lives in Chalfont with his wife, four children, and dog Marley. A musician and guitar teacher, he plays multiple instruments and once created a children’s puppet music show, Penny and the Pinecone People. Education and Background: In 2013, I graduated from Bloomsburg University with a bachelor's degree in communications. I worked as a paralegal for a little over a year, but soon realized the field of law was not fulfilling to me. Shortly after leaving my career, I went on to obtain my 200-hour RYT from Corepower Yoga and began working as a yoga instructor. Teaching mindfulness, movement, and meditation taught me that I had a passion for helping others. Shortly after, I began my masters degree at Gwynedd Mercy University in the field of School Counseling. I graduated from Gwynedd in 2020 and went on to become a school counselor for the School District of Philadelphia. While I was working as a school counselor, I obtained a certification in holistic life coaching and began life coaching young adult women. I left my career as a school counselor in July 2024 and began life coaching full time. This past June, I returned to Gwynedd to work towards my certification in Clinical Mental Health Counseling so I could begin my hours toward my LPC. At the school level, I have experience working with children ranging from ages 4 through 18. Through life coaching, I have experience working with women in their 20s and 30s.

Currently, I work with adolescents ages 12-24. My approach to counseling ranges from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy to solution-focused therapy. I support children and adolescents in learning to identify their thoughts and behaviors while simultaneously developing methods to empower them. I take a very holistic approach to therapy, meaning I work with children and adolescents to enhance each pillar of their well being. Through my counseling style, I specialize in supporting children and adolescents with social skills, grief and loss, divorce and separation, major life changes, self-esteem, positive peer relationships, healthy sexuality, and school-related concerns.

Philosophy: I am committed to creating an open, safe, and consistent environment where children and adolescents feel comfortable speaking freely and expressing themselves fully. When a child walks into my office, I want to assure them that it is a space where judgement does not reside. We are all individuals with pasts, presents, and futures who have made mistakes and are actively learning from them. Self-development is a consistent practice that does not adhere to a specific age. No matter who you are and no matter how old you are, we are all actively creating a better world for ourselves. I will assure this level of comfortability by developing a healthy relationship with each of my clients that is both open and abides to a clear set of boundaries. Through this, we can collaboratively conquer any problems and concerns that come along the way.

Personal: I currently reside in Philadelphia with my partner, Eric. We have a dog named Brody and two cats named Mike and Kitten. I am still an active yoga instructor in Philadelphia and practice yoga daily. I love cooking for my loved ones, but I also enjoy exploring new restaurants. Eric and I are travelers at heart and try to travel several times a year. My other hobbies include going for long walks, hiking, reading both fiction and nonfiction, and gardening.

"Healing doesn't mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives."  - T.I. Lowe

Education and Background: I graduated from Boston University in 2019 with my Bachelor's in Psychology. After graduating, I worked at a homeless shelter, TBI residential home, and at an alternative school. At the alternative school, I felt the need to gain additional education for counseling and went back to school in 2022. I graduated from Walden University in 2025 with my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. At the end of May 2025, I took the NCE and passed, earning my NCC. During my final year at my Master's program, as an intern, I was seeing clients to further develop my counseling skills in a private practice setting.

Currently, my focus is older teenagers and young adults from ages 14-24. My specialties include Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Depressive Disorders, ADHD, and trauma-related disorders. Also, I help young adults with challenges related to major life transitions, changes in self-identity, self-care, self-esteem concerns, boundaries, work-life balance, and understanding the mind-body connection. These are crucial developmental concerns that can impact a young adult's life well into their adulthood.

Philosophy: I am committed to helping my clients have a safe space to explore their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My therapeutic style is more human-centered, which acknowledges that each individual has the inherent potential for growth. I am committed to working with my clients through a variety of modalities because, let's be honest, every one is different and I am committed to working with you to see what helps promote overall growth and wellbeing. I am an eclectic therapist who utilizes many different modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Theory. Through these different modalities, I work with my clients to become more aware of the patterns surrounding their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Understanding the parts of us that we tend to ignore can be a huge advantage in a society that promotes distraction instead of full body awareness and presence. Through the usage of Somatic Therapy, we focus on bodily sensations to process trauma utilizing techniques like grounding, mindfulness, movement/process, and self-regulation.

Personal: I live in Hatfield, PA with my significant other and parents. I have a deep love for learning, especially about psychology. I believe a key part of life is to be curious. Because when you're curious, you can make new discoveries about the world around you, but also about yourself. The most courageous thing you can do is to begin to understand your own story.

“I love the fact that I make people happy, in any form. Even if it’s just half an hour of their lives, If I can make them feel lucky or make them feel good, or bring a smile to a sour face, that to me

is worthwhile.” - Freddie Mercury

Education and Background: From a young age, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in mental health. My bachelor’s degree is a double major in Psychology and Fine Arts, along with a minor in Spanish, from Elizabethtown College in 2022. I then spent some time studying Art Therapy at Drexel University, combining my love for the arts and the therapy field. In 2024 I began my Masters program in Counseling Psychology back at Elizabethtown College with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Counseling, which came from my experiences and joy working in childcare settings. Within this program I completed my clinical internship at a LGBTQ+ center, allowing me to develop my commitment for equity and acceptance into purposeful therapeutic work. My studies have helped to shape my passion for mental health, child and adolescent care, and identity discovery and support into the skills needed to inform my therapy practices today.

Philosophy: Therapy is a space where clients should feel comfortable and willing to explore themselves and the things most important to them. The therapist can take on the role of a supportive guide, working together with the client to make meaningful change. My approach to therapy is informed by different disciplines: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which

emphasizes the connection between our thoughts/beliefs and our actions/choices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which seeks to identify our goals and values to ensure we are making life choices that enact them in our day-to-day, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

(DBT), which looks to explore emotional regulation and the importance of interpersonal relationships. I also have a passion for creative approaches to therapy and enjoy using art, movement and play with clients of any age!

Personal: I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, and plan to keep my roots in the Greater Philadelphia area. I live with my family, partner, and orange cat named Reggie, who I rescued when he was a kitten! In my free time I love to engage in the arts through drawing, sewing, and dancing. I am also in a dance and performance troupe, where I am the dance captain and choreographer!

In 2005, I began to work as a school counselor at the Abington School District, where I am currently working with students at the high school level.

Philosophy: My mission is to guide high school students in discovering their passions, setting meaningful goals, and making informed decisions about college and career paths. I am committed to providing individualized support, fostering self-confidence, and equipping each student with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in life beyond high school.

It’s never too late for a new beginning in your life

Background/Education: I am a 2023 graduate of Quakertown Community High School. Throughout my high school education, I was involved with “Best Buddies”, a program meant to provide inclusion and long-lasting friendships for children with different abilities. This experience introduced me to the various needs of children and gave me a passion for wanting to be a positive influence in their lives. Taking AP Psychology and speaking with my guidance counselor, who owned a private practice, introduced me to the world of psychology. My senior year, I participated in a field study that took place at my local  police department and the Doylestown courthouse. Through this experience, I learned the impact mental health has on our everyday lives. I am currently in my last year of my undergraduate degree in Counseling Psychology at Delaware Valley University. I have taken a broad range of psychology classes, which enhanced my knowledge of the need for mental health support in the community.

This summer, I had the opportunity to volunteer at Camelot for Children in Allentown, PA. This is a non-profit organization that enriches the lives of children with medical complexities. It was heartwarming to know that I was able to provide emotional support and bring joy to these children and their families. As an intern at New Outlook Therapies, I will gain hands-on experience and a better understanding of psychology concepts used in real-life situations. I will be enrolling in graduate school next fall to obtain a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. In the next five years, I see myself joining a private practice.

Personal: I live in Quakertown, PA, with my family and our yellow lab Ace. I enjoy reading fiction, specifically romance/fantasy. My other hobbies include working out at the gym, being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and learning how to play golf.
